Good morning to all you folks on this
“cold” New England morning. I do pray that everyone is staying warm? With that thought in mind, please allow the
Word of God to warm your soul, your spiritual being on this cold morning.
If we'll let the truths of Scripture fill our
minds, guard our emotions, and influence our conduct, God will richly reward us. I'm talking about spiritual blessings here,
though He at times chooses to bless materially as well. By reading and meditating on His Word, you'll learn to understand
His ways. Also, your relationship with the Lord will grow increasingly more intimate because He chooses to reveal Himself
to those who seek Him and obey His instructions.
A life grounded in truth is powerful. Hear ye
the Word of God. “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples
indeed
And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” (John 8:31-32)
Notice Jesus said, "If ye continue in my word”
or, in this doctrine of mine. Did you notice that Jesus said, “If ye continue?” I do not believe that it is enough
for us to simply receive God's truth. No we must retain it and walk in it. And it is only when we receive the truth, love
it, keep it, and walk in it, that we are the genuine disciples of Christ?
Jesus also said, “the truth shall make you
free.” The truth here, I believe means the Christian religion. The doctrines of the true religion shall make you free,
that is it will free you from the slavery of evil. Those who live by the Word develop spiritual discernment, which guides
their choices and guards against deception
My dear friends do you not think it is wise to
invest our time and energy in building the truth of God's Word into our lives? All the other activities which take up so much
of our time and attention seem so important or pleasurable, but none of them can offer us the spiritual riches of a life
grounded in truth.
Are You Spending Time In God’s Word
Loving You In Jesus Christ,
