Isa. 45:20-25

I believe that any American with any sense at all, and surely any CHRISTIAN American, would testify with certainty that God HAS blessed America.

Our country is in great trouble!!! The song, "God Bless America," will be sung often at public events this July 4, our nation's birthday.

Americans are asking God to bless America? But Will He bless America? That is the subject for this morning's message: WILL GOD BLESS AMERICA?

There are some general principles that are found in the word of God that are requirements for God's blessings to rest upon a nation. Let me give you four of them this morning, and perhaps we all will have a better idea of whether or not our country will be blessed, and we will be able to continue enjoying the blessings of God.

I. IF SEEKING GOD IS RENEWED GOD WILL BLESS (Isa. 55:6-7) Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

    1. The God that America seeks must be “the” CHOSEN God 
        A. Americans must make a decision as to what God they will serve.

        B. I have knocked on many doors, “I am not interested.”

    2. The God that America seeks must be the CORRECT God

        A. Who is God? The God of Islam? Mormons? False Witnesses?

    3. The God America seeks must be the CHRISTIAN God

        A. You can't honor God the Father unless you honor God the Son!

II. IF THE SCRIPTURES ARE FOLLOWED GOD WILL BLESS (Psa. 119:9-11) Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way? by taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments. Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

We must return to the Bible and change our mind about

    1. Morals in America

        A. Nationally we have legalized, normalized, and made acceptable practices

             which are sinful and harmful:

         B. Such as, Strong drink Gambling Pornography

    2. Murder in America

          A. God hates is "hands that shed innocent blood" (Prov. 6:16-17).These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, An heart that deviseth wicked imaginations, feet that be swift in running to mischief, A false witness that speaketh lies, and he that soweth discord among brethren. (Nub.35:33) So ye shall not pollute the land wherein ye are: for blood it defileth the land: and the land cannot be cleansed of the blood that is shed therein, but by the blood of him that shed it.

         B. Our land has been polluted by the blood of unborn children, who are

             being murdered legally now in our country at the rate of 1.5 million per

              year.

    3. Marriage in America (Heb.13:4) Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.

       A. We have got to get away from this custom of "shacking up" and living

            together out of wedlock. God calls it whoredom and adultery!

            (ICort.6:9-13, 18-20)

       B. We have got to realize that people of the same sex are not qualified to

             marry! Their relationship is an abomination to God, according to

             (Lev. 18:22)! Thou shalt not lie with mankind, as with womankind: it is

             abomination.

III. IF SOUL-WINNING CONTINUES GOD WILL BLESS (Prov. 11:30) The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.

God's people are compared to salt in the world:(Mat.5:13)

    1. Salt seasons and flavors

    2. Salt salves and heals

    3. Salt saves and preserves

Let's win more politicians and future politicians to the Lord!

Let's win more teachers and future teachers to the Lord!

Let's win more policemen and future policemen to the Lord!

IV. IF THE SAINTS TURN TO THE LORD GOD WILL BLESS (2Chro.7:14) If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

    1. The people - "If MY people, which are called by my name"

    2. The pride - "shall humble themselves"

    3. The prayer - "and pray"

    4. The pursuit of God - "and seek my face"

    5. The promise - "THEN will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will

        heal their land."

LINCOLN’S PLEA

A visitor to the white house during the days of the Civil War said: “ I had been spending three weeks in the white house with Mr. Lincoln as his guest. One night it was just after the battle of bull run. I was wrestles and could not sleep. It was coming near to the dawn of the day when I heard low tones proceeding from a private room where the president slept. The door was partly open. Instinctively I walked in, and there I saw a sight which I shall never forget. It was the President kneeling before an open Bible. The light was turned low in the room. His back was toward me. I shall never forget his tones so piteous and so sorrowful. “O Thou God, that heard Solomon in the night when he prayed and cried for wisdom, hear me: I cannot lead this people, I cannot guide the affairs of this nation without thy help. I am poor and weak and sinful. O God, thou didst hear Solomon when he cried for wisdom hear me and save this nation.” God heard, and He answered him then and there. Will He not answer today?
