CAN YOU, WILL YOU SAY "JESUS IS LORD"

CAN SAY THAT JESUS IS THE LORD?

1 Cor. 12:1-3

Text: 1 Cor. 12:3

Not long ago, I was witnessing to a man on the job, he wanted  to get me tied up with a lecture on the name of God. I told him that the only name he really needed to understand was Jesus. And the same goes for us all. (Acts 4:12)(Phlip. 2:9-11)

Today I will bodly confess that which many religions will not confess nor acknowledge. And that is that Jesus is the Lord kurios, koo'-ree-os; (supremacy); supreme in authority controller! He is not only THE Lord, but I claim Him as MY Lord, and He is Lord of all.

So with that in mind, can you say

I. THAT JESUS IS THE LORD OF YOUR HEART? (IPt.3:15)But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

    1. Jesus TOUCHES the heart

        A. When Jesus touches you heart, it is called conviction

        B.  Has He touched your heart? Have you surrendered?

        C. Remember (Romans 10:9&10) That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
2. Jesus TENDERIZES the heart

    A. Once Jesus has touched your heart, amd you have

surrendered now you can turely love others!

    3. Jesus TOUGHENS the heart

       A. When a person rebels against Him

           1. As He did  Pharaoh's heart in the Old Testament

    4. Jesus TERMINATES the heart

        A. It is He who gives life, substains life, and takes life.

II. THAT JESUS IS THE LORD OF YOUR HOME? (Psalms 127:1) Except the LORD build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the LORD keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.

1. Jesus is the home's foundation

   A. It should be built UPON Him

        1. Upon His salvation
        2. Upon His scriptures
        3. Upon His service
        4. Upon His Spirit

    2. Jesus is the home's framework
       A. It should be built AROUND Him
           1. Around His pleasure
           2. Around His purpose
           3. Around His Person

    3. Jesus is the home's future
       A. Once you place your home's future in His hands
           1. It is His business to PROTECT
           2. It is His business to PROVIDE
           3. It is His business to PROSPER

III. THAT JESUS IS THE LORD OF YOUR HABITS? (Proverbs 3:6) In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

    1. Jesus can conquer our habits

    2. Jesus can change our habits

    3. Jesus can control our habits

    4. How can He conquer, change, and control?

        A. By His Spirit (Galatians 5:16) This I say then, Walk in the

Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

IV. THAT JESUS IS THE LORD OF HEAVEN?

(Colossians 1:16-20) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:  And he is before all things, and by him all things consist  And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.  For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;  And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.

1. Jesus created heaven (John 1:1-3)

2. Jesus came from heaven

3. Jesus cleared the way TO heaven (John 14:6) (Acts 4:12)

4. Jesus is coming back FROM heaven! (1 Thess. 4:13-18)

CONCLUSION

During the Korean War, a group of believers were in a little chapel when communist soldiers barged in with machine guns. One of the soldiers said, "All right everybody, get up!" So they got off their knees. He said, "Line up against the wall!" They did what the soldier said to do. Then that soldier ripped the picture of Christ off the wall and threw it down on the floor. He said, "All right, one by one, I want you to come by here, spit on this picture, and curse His name."

The first three in line were men of the church, they did what the soldier said to do. They spit on the picture and they cursed the name of Christ. The fourth one in line was a high school girl. She came up before the picture and she dropped to her knees. She wiped the spittle off with her skirt, and she said, "Go ahead and kill me. I cannot curse His name."

The soldier said, "Get up!" They blindfolded that girl and the three men, and marched them out behind the chapel. The people inside heard three shots. The soldiers came back in with the girl -- alive.

The soldier said, "Anyone who gives up what they believe that easily is not fit to be a communist." And they marched out.

Yes Jesus is Lord of "All"
